FAQs

What does the competitor ticket get me?

Competitor tickets are only available for those competing in fixtures. Competitor tickets cost just £3. This includes entry to your fixture, access to the transport between venues and entry to the final fixtures and event in the sports hall from 5pm.

You’ll also get a Varsity 2025 competitor t-shirt.

You need to redeem your ticket at the SU front desk to pick up your t-shirt and your Varsity wristband – this is your ticket.

What does the spectator ticket get me?

Spectator tickets are available at just £3 each and this will give you access to the transport between the venues and entry to the final fixtures and event in the sports hall from 5pm.

You need to redeem your ticket at the SU front desk to pick up your Varsity wristband – this is your ticket.

Do I need a ticket to watch fixtures?

There will be limited space for spectators at fixtures other than the final fixtures in the sports hall. You only need a ticket to watch the final fixtures from 5pm.

However, you cannot access the transport to get to the venues without a ticket.

If you wish to only watch Men’s Football, for example, and you get yourself there, then you do not need a ticket to enter Shelley FC to watch.

Do I need a ticket for the final fixtures?

Yes.

The final fixtures will take place in the University Sports Hall, with doors opening from 5pm. This will be a ticketed event, and you will need your Varsity wristband to enter the Sports Hall.

Do I need to purchase a spectator t-shirt?

Spectator t-shirts are an optional extra, at £5 each. You do not need a t-shirt to spectate – the spectator ticket will give you a wristband. The wristband is your ticket.

What are the transport details?

We will be providing a shuttle bus service between the University, Shelley FC (Storthes Hall) and Lockwood Park. Full details are on our website: Varsity @ Huddersfield Students' Union

You will need a ticket to use the transport.

Is alcohol available

Varsity 2025 will be an alcohol free event. As the final fixtures are on campus and in the University Sports Hall we have decided that it isn’t a suitable venue to allow alcohol to be drunk.

Bag searches will take place at the entrance of the Sports Hall and any alcohol will be confiscated.

Is there food and soft drinks available?

For the final fixtures, in the University Sports Hall, there will be food and drinks available.

The Students’ Union shop will be open until 8pm and the pizza outlet on floor 4 of Student Central will also be open until 8pm.

All this food and drink can be taken into the Sports Hall, please keep it tidy and use the bins provided.
