Come and join us for a special, extended, guided tour of the University's newest building on campus.
Inspired by the Jo Cox Foundation and the More in Common philosophy, this new building provides space for Students and Staff to facilitate and participate in significant conversations, education and programmes that celebrate Jo’s famous words “We are far more united and have far more in common than that which divides us.”
The building is one of only a handful of buildings in the UK to be awarded the highest level of certification, the Platinum WELL Building Standard, which centres around human health and wellness and features many sustainable architectural elements.
The standard consists of 10 concepts – air, water, nourishment, light, movement, thermal comfort, sound, materials, mind and community. The concepts have been integrated into the buildings design and operation to optimise the health of the building’s occupants and help them thrive.
We will be joined by the University Chaplains and staff from Student Services, who will speak about some of the faith, wellbeing and community activities which take place in the building.
Refreshments will be available after the tour.
