Welcome!
We are Huddersfield Students’ Union (or HSU for short).
We are an independent charity, based at the University of Huddersfield. We’re led by students, for students and we have one simple mission.
Make student life better.
Our independence ensures we can support students across three key areas:
- Providing independent advice on everything from academic regulations to student finance and housing.
- Championing students to have their voices heard, from electing our student leaders, to supporting our social networks to campaign for services and facilities on campus.
- Supporting the social side of life, through societies, sports clubs and a diverse calendar of events throughout the year.
We take pride in creating a community where all voices are equal, and everyone is free and safe to express themselves. Giving students opportunities to make connections, enjoy good times with friends and feel supported on their path through the University of Huddersfield.
We are committed to ensuring our workforce reflects the diversity of the world and community we’re based in. We respect everyone's individual identity and celebrate difference. That’s why we encourage applications from all candidates irrespective of background, and why we are proud to be Investors in Ethnicity, a Mindful Employer, and a Disability Confident Committed organisation.
We value flexibility, and offer hybrid, flexible working for most of our roles. We welcome people who thrive on being empowered in a high trust, high responsibility environment and are passionate about making the student experience the best it can be. If this sounds like you, then HSU might just be the right place for you to achieve your potential.
