Huddersfield delivered a commanding performance against Northumbria, securing a 70-43 victory. The home side's fast-paced and dominant offence and resolute defence proved too much for Northumbria, who never truly got into their rhythm throughout the contest.

First Quarter: The game started in a tense and scrappy manner, with both teams struggling to find their shooting form. Huddersfield were the first to break the deadlock, with #17 making a strong run to the basket, drawing a foul in the process, but missing the first free throw. However, #17 quickly made amends by converting the second.

Northumbria were unable to capitalise on their early opportunities, as Huddersfield's defence stood firm. A standout defensive play from #16, who blocked a fast break, kept the visitors at bay. Huddersfield then pushed on with a fast break of their own, with #4 hitting a smooth two-pointer.

Northumbria responded with their own basket but were quickly outpaced by Huddersfield’s quick reactions. The home side-maintained possession, but despite some missed opportunities, #8 broke through with a sprint and a looping shot off the back of the rim, putting Huddersfield back in scoring mode. #16 then added a two-pointer and a pair of free throws after drawing a foul, closing the quarter with Huddersfield leading 17-4.

Second Quarter: Huddersfield came out strong in the second quarter. #12 opened the scoring with a neat two-pointer, and #17 followed up with a three-pointer, showing Huddersfield’s intent. The team continued to dominate, with #11 intercepting a pass and setting up #17 for another quick two.

Northumbria briefly found their rhythm, as they managed to score a couple of two-pointers, but Huddersfield responded quickly. A quick rebound from #5 allowed him to sink a looping two-pointer, while #4 added another basket. The visitors were unable to make a dent in Huddersfield’s lead, as the home side continued to pressure.

As the quarter wound down, Huddersfield's lead had extended to 22 points, 36-14, with Northumbria struggling to find any consistency in their offence. Huddersfield’s passing and movement off the ball were too much for the visitors to handle, leaving Northumbria chasing the game.

Third Quarter: Huddersfield came out firing once again to start the third quarter, quickly scoring with a two-pointer. Northumbria, however, quickly answered back with their own two-pointer, but Huddersfield’s #17 showed his class with a thunderous dunk over #11 to restore Huddersfield’s dominance.

Northumbria did show some signs of life, with #1 knocking down the team’s first three-pointer of the game, but Huddersfield were always one step ahead. #2 drew another foul for the home side but was only able to convert one out of two free throws, replicating his previous trip to the line.

Huddersfield were on a roll, with #12 cutting through to score another two-pointer and #8 making a darting run, faking a shot and delivering a no-look pass to #4 for a three-pointer. The lead continued to build as #4 hit two more free throws, followed by another quick two-pointer after a failed free-throw attempt from the visitors.

Northumbria did manage to score a few more points, but Huddersfield responded each time, and by the end of the third quarter, the lead had ballooned to 28 points, 55-27.

Fourth Quarter: Despite the sizeable lead, Huddersfield showed no signs of easing up in the final period. #17 began the quarter with a couple of free throws, followed by another two-pointer. Northumbria’s #1 hit another three-pointer in a final effort to close the gap, but Huddersfield’s lead was insurmountable at this stage.

The visitors failed to capitalise on a few chances, with #17 adding another free throw and a two-pointer to keep the scoreboard ticking over for Huddersfield. The home side continued to make plays, and #16 drove to the basket for yet another two-pointer, extending Huddersfield’s lead to 30 points.

Northumbria did manage to knock down one final three-pointer from #1, but Huddersfield were untroubled and immediately responded with another quick two-pointer. #4 made a darting run to the basket to convert another two-pointer, adding the finishing touches to a dominant display from Huddersfield.

The game ended 70-43, with Huddersfield in complete control from start to finish. Northumbria were never able to impose themselves, and despite a few flashes of individual brilliance, Huddersfield’s team performance proved to be the difference. The home side were clinical on offence, solid in defence, and showed excellent ball movement throughout, making for a comprehensive victory.
