By implementing a smoke-free campus policy, we recognize the right of individuals to enjoy a healthy environment. While some may choose to smoke or vape, others equally deserve the right to breathe clean air without exposure to harmful substances. This balance of liberties ensures that everyone can engage in their activities without compromising their health or well-being. Promoting a smoke-free campus fosters a more inclusive and supportive community where all members can thrive.
Recommendation: Implementation of Designated Smoke Areas
Implementing designated smoke cubicles on campus could be a practical solution to balance the needs of smokers and non-smokers. These cubicles would provide a controlled space for individuals to smoke or vape, minimizing the impact of secondhand smoke on others. These cubicles could be equipped with ventilation systems to further reduce smoke exposure and can be strategically placed away from key areas. This approach not only respects the rights of smokers, but also prioritizes the health and comfort of the broader campus community.

I have breathing issues, I don't want to inhale smoke indirectly when I am in my campus.
Not a fan of leaving my lecture and when switching buildings, immediately getting blasted in the face with smoke outside JPS like what happened last week and some sort of white ash getting all over me and my friend's clothes
Ideally this is a good idea, many students would greatly appreciate a smoke free campus however it is too strict of a rule. A better alternative would be to have non-smoking areas (perhaps areas which are usually busy), that way both parties can reach a happy ground.
Maybe allocating a specific smoking area for those that do smoke, allowing them a space so do so without having to leave campus, while also considering the health needs of all those using the campus.
I believe the idea of finding a happy medium ie: smoking sheds/ non-smoking areas is a better idea than a full ban
