Category: Facilities
I believe that establishing designated time slots for women could really encourage more female students to engage with the gym facilities on campus. It would create a comfortable environment for those who may feel hesitant to work out in a mixed setting, and could also encourage more women from diferent backgrounds to get involved with fitness. This idea would not impact men accessing facilities, as we would like to introduce 2/3 hour time slots at a time (on 3 days of the week) that are allocated for women.

I believe that it may be better to instead have designated areas and classes, rather than time slots. Lots of people already struggle with finding the necessary time to make use of the gym facilities, due to having to work around all their other commitments, so being able to find a 2/3 hour time slot that works for everyone will likely prove to be impossible. Especially if any attempt to try and enforce this would more than likely require asking the men already utilising the gym facilities at that time to leave early, which will undoubtedly result in some form of backlash. However, I'm not against women being able to make use of gym facilities solely for them, as it would encourage greater levels of participation (as you had mentioned) which I'm very much in favour of; so I believe that women having there own areas and classes would be a better alternative as they could be used when most convenient for each individual, and people won't be forced to cut their own workout short.
As a muslim woman, I love this idea.
