Alumni Student Membership grants recent graduates from the University of Huddersfield the chance to access a limited number of benefits of the Union.
This is an annual membership that will expire on the 31st of July.
Alumni Student Membership is only available for a maximum of two academic years after graduation and you must have a specific reason for purchasing a membership.
Summary of what the membership includes:

Access to services, facilities and resources provided by the Union.

Access to Union events upon registration and payment for tickets.

Access to purchase an annual membership of a Union Sports Club or Society.
Exclusions to the membership:
As an Alumni Member you shall not have the right to access or engage in the following:

Attending, speaking or voting at a Union meeting (including the committee meetings of Sports Clubs and Societies).

Hold any office or take part in the election of Union Officers or Committee positions in Sports Clubs and Socities.

Participate in the democratic activities of the Union.

Access the Advice Centre.

Participate in Student Networks.
The Union reserves the right to revoke the Alumni Student Membership at any time for reasons including, but not limited to, violation of Union policies, unethical behaviour, or any action that bring disrepute to the Union.

Alumni Student Membership Terms and Conditions
This document outlines the terms and conditions for the Alumni Student Membership ("Membership") offered by the University of Huddersfield Students' Union ("Union"). By purchasing the Alumni Student Membership, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to abide by these terms and conditions.
- Eligibility:
- Alumni Student Membership is granted at the discretion of the Union’s Officer/SLT Committee.
- Alumni Student Membership is only available for a maximum of two academic years after your graduation.
- The Member must provide a specific reason for purchasing an Alumni Membership.
- Terms:
- All Alumni Memberships start from the 1st September each year.
- All Alumni Memberships expire on the 31st of July each year.
- Membership Benefits:
- The Member shall receive the benefits outlined by the Union at the time of purchasing the Membership. These benefits may include, but are not limited to:
- Access to services, facilities, and resources provided by the Union.
- Attend Union events upon registration or payment of tickets.
- Join a Union Sports Club or Society upon purchasing an annual membership subscription.
- Exclusions:
- The Member shall not have the right to access or engage in the following:
- Attending, speaking or voting at a Union Meeting, including the committee meetings of sports clubs and societies.
- Hold any office or take part in the election of Union Officers or Committee positions in Sports Clubs and Societies.
- Participate in the democratic activities of the Students’ Union i.e. participate in any part of the election or referenda process (including campaigning for other students).
- Access the advice centre services, unless you have an ongoing case that was opened when you were a student.
- Participate in any Student Networks unless specifically invited to do so by the Officer/SLT Committee.
- Non-Transferable:
- The Membership is non-transferable and is only valid for the individual named in the Membership.
- Code of Conduct:
- The Member is expected to adhere to the Union's Articles of Association, Bye Laws and any other policies or rules set forth by the Union. Full information can be found on our website (https://www.huddersfieldsu.co.uk/governance).
- Revocation of Membership:
- The Union reserves the right to revoke the Alumni Student Membership at any time for reasons including, but not limited to, violation of Union policies, unethical behaviour, or actions that bring disrepute to the Union.
- Notification of Changes:
- The Union may modify or amend these terms and conditions at any time, and such changes will be communicated to the Member through the contact information provided.
- Communication:
- The Union may contact the Member using the contact information provided by the Member. It is the Member's responsibility to inform the Union of any changes in contact information. This must be done in writing by emailing students.union@hud.ac.uk.
- Privacy:
- The Union will handle personal information in accordance with UK GDPR data protection laws and its privacy policy.
- The Union will use your personal information for the following purposes:
- For the administrative purposes of being an Alumni Student Member.
- For statistical purposes to help the Students’ Union ensure that quality services are delivered.
- To communicate information about services, opportunities and offers available from the Students’ Union and its partners that are of benefit to Alumni Student Members.
- To enable the relevant administration and communication associated each sports club or society joined on an annual basis.
- Termination:
- The Membership may be terminated by either party with written notice. Upon termination, the Member shall no longer be entitled to any Membership benefits.
- The Union reserves the right to deny refunds for sports clubs, societies, event tickets, or any other payments in the event of Membership termination.
- Entire Agreement:
- This document constitutes the entire agreement between the parties and supersedes all prior understandings, whether written or verbal.
- Severability:
- If any provision of this agreement is held to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall continue to be valid and enforceable.
- Waiver:
- The failure of either party to enforce any provision of this agreement shall not be construed as a waiver of that provision or any other provision.
